The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has 20 laboratories and 14 education facilities in major diamond and jewelry centers around the world. IGI provides natural and lab grown diamond reports, colored stone grading, origin reports, and appraisal reports.
A team of experienced gemologists uses advanced equipment to analyze and describe each diamond’s features and cut quality.
IGI’s team of 650+ gemologists provides grading, appraisal, identification, origin, and laser inscription services globally. Education is offered through IGI’s Schools of Gemology with diploma certification.
Diamonds are graded for color (D–Z scale), fluorescence, and clarity (IF to I3 scale). All characteristics are plotted on diagrams by expert gemologists using loupes and microscopes.

IGI Diamond Grading Report
IGI Diamond Grading Reports are globally trusted documents that describe a diamond’s authenticity, quality, and characteristics. From the cut and color to clarity and carat weight, every factor is scientifically evaluated and reported with objectivity, consistency, and accuracy.
IGI Diamond ID Report
This report includes all the information provided in the Diamond Report, along with a laser inscription of a unique identification number on the diamond. The inscription helps to verify the authenticity and traceability of the diamond.
